Welcome parents!

My name is Andrew Long and I am the teacher for grades 4-8 Social Studies, here, at Faith Islamic Academy.

Social Studies is a very diverse subject because we cover elements of geography, government, history, and economics throughout the school year. My classroom is not your traditional classroom as students are challenged to think critically about the content, collaborate with their peers to complete projects, and take responsibility for their learning. I hold my students to high expectations because we are preparing them for high school and beyond. Truthfully, we have A LOT of fun too!

In addition to everything that we do inside the classroom, students (grades 6-8) are able to participate in the Washington D.C. trip every three years. The trip is always a lasting memory from their time at FIA.
